stepping it up a bit

Every little town has its Farmer Brown
And every Walnut Grove has its Mrs. Olsen.

Caroline traded a basket of eggs for a bag  of sugar,
...Not possible anymore,  with the uneven wage.
These days,  it has to be more than eggs. .
And that is where the Art comes into it...
And that is why I sew extreme pot holders.

But  that's not the whole truth:  I like the fabrics that come from  an era I no  longer live in. DM

slowing down-not catching up

Face Book, Twitter, Pinterest:  I don't have them,  but I know that they exist.
Perhaps my lack of them, is  just passing on the baton to the next generation, who will carry on.

Nov. 1ST:   I'm thankful we made it through October.  October seems always to bring about a bumpy ride.
Ours ended with a glass paper weight, on a shelf above the toilet,  falling off by itself and crashing through the toilet bowl like a meteorite or a bowling ball,  leaving a hole for the water to drain through and spill out onto the floor.
Upon removal and replacement of the stool,  we discover,  swarming and disturbed,  a colony of carpenter ants living there at this yucky water source.  How ghoulish is that on October 31st?
